The four lines that matter
A Belgian payslip can look intimidating, but it always comes down to four key lines: gross salary, the NSSO contribution (13.07%), taxable gross and withholding tax. Everything else, net paid, meal vouchers, benefits, is built on top of these figures.
How the tool checks your payslip
Enter your gross salary and family situation: the tool reconstructs the expected amount for each line. Then enter the actual figures from your payslip to compare them and spot any discrepancy worth investigating.
And automatic PDF reading?
We plan to let you upload your payslip PDF directly for automatic reading. For now, entering the figures manually keeps everything private: nothing leaves your browser.

Frequently asked questions
What are the four lines that matter on a payslip?
Gross salary, the NSSO employee contribution (13.07%), taxable gross (gross minus NSSO), and withholding tax. Everything else on the payslip derives from these four figures.
Why is the NSSO contribution exactly 13.07%?
It is the standard rate of the personal social security contribution for private-sector employees, funding pensions, unemployment, health insurance and family allowances. For low salaries, the work bonus can reduce it.
How does this tool check my payslip?
Enter your gross salary and situation: the tool reconstructs the expected amounts for each line and lets you compare them with the figures on your actual payslip, to spot any discrepancy.
What about automatic PDF reading?
A future version could read your payslip PDF directly. For now, you enter the figures manually, nothing leaves your browser.
My payslip differs slightly from the estimate, is that normal?
Yes: bonuses, meal vouchers, group insurance, or a specific reduction can shift the exact figures. A reasonable discrepancy is expected; a large one is worth raising with your social secretariat.
